  25. I've understood perfectly what you and others have said.
  26. (The answers have all been different.)
  27. However, I am not convinced that you or any of the other gurus
  28. have actually tried what you say.

  30. For example, with your "simple" solution,
  31. what would distinguish the 2 networks (Ethernet & SLIP)?
  32. Would you have an /etc/networks entry?
  33. If so, what?

  35. In any case, my understanding of the original question
  36. was that the poster did not wish to register
  37. a second IP address;
  38. his question was whether he could route packets
  39. from machine 2 through machine 1 to the Internet,
  40. using SLIP with the static or dynamic IP address assigned by his ISP.
